QBITTI not only tries to provide our students with the best vocational educational experience available, we also strive to be active, responsible, and charitable members of our community. To that end we sponsor several charitable and community based events each year.
As many of you know each year we sponsor at least two, and sometimes three, blood drives for the NYC Blood Center. These drives take place at our facility and usually run from 10:00am to 4:00pm. All are invited, and walk-in donors are always welcome. You can learn more about the next scheduled blood drive by clicking on this link.
We also sponsor and annual softball game between our students and staff. This game pits the Team Lightning (Students from the Electricians' Helpers, Telecommunications, Photocopier Repair and Computer Technician programs) against the Team Hurricane (Building Maintainers and Plumbers Helpers). QBITTI makes a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital that is based on the number of attendees at this event. The more who participate, the more QBITTI donates. You can learn more about the next scheduled game by clicking on this link.
Lastly, our staff are also active in the community. Many of our staff donate their time and effort to many worthy organizations like becoming a mentoring, or coaching to name a few. In addition, our President, Neil Cuomo, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Department of Labor for more than 20 years.
